On December 21 2006,  Sailors of Naval Mobile Constuction Battalion 18 on Foward Operation Base Rawah (FOB Rawah), Iraq. The NMCB-18 detachment on FOB Rawah, Iraq main mission is to improve the quailty of life and force protection measure for the Marines , Sailors and Soldiers assign to the base. NMCB-18  is deployed with I Marine Expeditionary Force (Foward) in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (Multi-National Force West) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
